REVIEW PROCESS

The Journal of Fauna Biodiversity (JFB) is committed to maintaining a rigorous, fair, and transparent peer-review process. Manuscripts submitted to the journal undergo an initial editorial assessment to determine whether they fall within the journal's aims and scope, meet basic scientific and ethical standards, and are suitable for external peer review.

Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial assessment are normally evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with appropriate expertise in the subject area. JFB operates a double-blind peer-review process, in which the identities of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other.

Reviewers are selected on the basis of their subject expertise, relevant publication record, independence, and ability to provide an objective scientific assessment. Reviewers should not have relationships or conflicts of interest that could compromise the impartiality of the review process.

Reviewers evaluate manuscripts with regard to scientific quality, originality, methodological soundness, clarity of presentation, relevance to the journal's scope, and the extent to which the conclusions are supported by the results. Based on the reviewers' reports and the editor's assessment, a manuscript may be accepted, accepted subject to revision, returned for major revision, or rejected.

The final decision regarding publication is made by the responsible editor based on the scientific merits of the manuscript, the reviewers' recommendations, the authors' responses to comments, and compliance with the journal's editorial and ethical policies. Reviewer recommendations are advisory, and the final editorial decision rests with the journal.

Manuscripts may be rejected without external review when they fall outside the journal's scope, do not meet minimum standards of scientific quality or presentation, or raise significant ethical concerns, including plagiarism, duplicate publication, inappropriate authorship, data fabrication or falsification, or citation manipulation.

Editors and reviewers are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest. A reviewer or editor with a conflict that could affect their impartiality should not participate in the evaluation of the manuscript. Manuscripts submitted by members of the Editorial Board are handled independently, and the submitting editor or board member has no involvement in the peer-review process or final decision concerning their manuscript.

Authors are informed of editorial decisions by email. The duration of peer review may vary depending on reviewer availability and the extent of revisions required.

PROOFS AND PUBLICATION

Following acceptance and production, proofs are sent to the corresponding author for verification and correction of typographical or production errors. Authors are requested to return corrected proofs within seven days.

JFB publishes accepted articles online according to the journal's production schedule. The journal publishes four issues annually, in March, June, September, and December.
